Agentic AI Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end AI applications that transform client operations, improve data accessibility, and optimize AI/ML pipelines.
• Design with the broader ecosystem and operating environment in mind, planning for future capabilities and enhancements.
• Advance expertise in software engineering, MLOps, and deploying and integrating solutions into diverse mission environments.
• Develop AI and ML enabled solutions to address challenges in the Defense and Intelligence sectors.

Requirements

• At least three years as an ML engineer delivering production-grade ML solutions, with exposure to LLMs, agents, or advanced automation frameworks.
• Three+ years in data science or data research within professional or academic settings, including training or deploying models across multiple data modalities.
• Three+ years of experience in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
• Two+ years deploying and integrating production-grade ML models using tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Large Language Models, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning, and with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, PydanticAI, or llamaindex.
• Experience connecting Agents to APIs, cloud platforms, or databases.
• Experience evaluating LLM performance and building observation layers for stakeholders using Grafana, Langfuse, LangSmith, or Phoenix.
• Experience assessing architectural tradeoffs and designing robust service-based software applications for scalable use.
• TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.

Work Model

• Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration across teams as required.

• Remote: If listed as remote, there may still be occasions requiring in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
