AI Engineer

Pi Security is hiring an AI Engineer to design and operate reliable agent systems and strengthen the underlying AI infrastructure. The role focuses on translating recent advances in LLMs into security capabilities that teams can use in their day-to-day engineering workflow.

Role Overview

Pi is building an agentic product security platform for teams that need to secure software at the speed they build it. Security knowledge is distributed across code, tickets, documents, incidents, reviews, and people. Pi consolidates this information into an institutional security memory that helps teams triage issues faster, remediate in context, prevent recurring vulnerability classes, and apply security guardrails during everyday development.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA and requires onsite work five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable AI agents, pipelines, and services.
• Build and improve infrastructure for running, evaluating, and monitoring AI agents.
• Partner with product and security teams to design and deliver AI-powered security features.
• Evaluate advances in LLMs and AI agents, then apply improvements where they enhance the product.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with a record of building reliable production systems.
• 2 years of experience building AI systems with LLMs.
• 1 year of experience building AI agents for software products.

Nice to Have

• Experience delivering complex SaaS projects in high-growth startups.
• Interest in clean, maintainable code, thoughtful software design, and sound engineering practices.
• Background in machine learning or data science.
• Full-stack experience with TypeScript and React.
