Job Description

Trinity Industries is hiring an AI Engineer Associate in Dallas, TX (onsite) to build and deploy agentic AI applications that support daily business workflows across the enterprise. The role focuses on designing agentic systems, implementing agent controls, and moving solutions from prototype to production using established architecture, code review, deployment, and governance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and deliver agentic systems that plan and execute multi-step business tasks, including connectors and integrations to internal systems and APIs.
  • Implement agent controls as a core part of the build, including evaluation against defined success criteria, scoped and secure tool access, human approval steps for actions involving business or financial risk, and monitoring of agent behavior in production.
  • Generate code and deployable artifacts using AI-assisted generation, then read, explain, test, and troubleshoot that code before release.
  • Deploy and support applications using the team’s source control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines, including triaging issues and iterating after launch.
  • Apply data governance and access-control practices to each solution, in partnership with data engineering.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand business problems and likely solution approaches.
  • Demo results and provide concise handoff documentation, runbooks, and impact metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent demonstrated practical experience.
  • Demonstrable experience building AI prototypes or agentic projects through internship, coursework, research, personal projects, or employment.
  • Ability to generate code using AI-assisted coding tools in an IDE, and to read, explain, test, and troubleshoot code produced by those tools.
  • Familiarity with SQL and cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of version control (Git) and collaborative development practices.
