Job Description
Sterling Infrastructure, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer in The Woodlands, TX (onsite) to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that support business and construction operations. This role works closely with operations and IT to deliver secure, scalable applications using modern cloud and AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with business and construction operations teams to identify opportunities for technology and AI solutions.
- Design, develop, and deploy applications, AI agents, automations, dashboards, and data integrations.
- Develop solutions using Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power BI, and other modern AI technologies.
- Create AI-powered workflows using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI.
- Convert complex data into practical tools that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making.
- Own projects from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and business leaders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, AI solutions, or a related field.
- Strong programming and development skills, including SQL and REST APIs, with experience in Python, .NET, TypeScript, or similar languages.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, or comparable cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience building AI solutions, automations, or data-driven applications.
- Ability to work independently, communicate with non-technical teams, and translate business needs into working solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, or other large language model (LLM) technologies.
- Experience developing operational or financial dashboards.
- Familiarity with construction technology platforms such as Viewpoint, HCSS, Trimble, or Autodesk.
