AI Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
This position, based in Moorestown, New Jersey with remote work options, focuses on building AI driven technologies across Lockheed Martin. The role covers the full system development lifecycle from concept to deployment, leveraging computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the AI team and product portfolio across the enterprise on a broad range of initiatives.
- Develop AI enabled technologies to deliver discriminating capabilities for internal teams, organizations, business units, and customers.
- Participate in all stages of the software and system development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, integration, and deployment.
- Work across the spectrum from early research and proofs of concept to prototype development, demonstrators, and transition to production.
- Apply current AI paradigms such as computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning to address complex problems and deploy innovative solutions.
- Take technical ownership of development tasks and assume responsibility for their delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience with Python and libraries including NumPy, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, Pandas, LangChain, and others
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, MXNet, and Caffe
- Experience with network and messaging technologies (UDP, ZeroMQ, RESTful API, etc.)
- Familiarity with C++, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, Go, and other compiled languages
- Experience developing applications on Windows and Linux
- Creative and resourceful problem solver

Ability to Work Remotely
Full-time remote telework: The selected candidate will work remotely full time at a location away from a Lockheed Martin designated office. Occasional travel to a Lockheed Martin office may be required for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules
Lockheed Martin offers a variety of alternate work schedules to provide additional flexibility. Schedules can range from a standard 40 hours over five days to condensed options, in addition to paid time off benefits.
Schedule for This Position
4x10 hour days, three days off per week
Pay Rate
The base salary range varies by location. In major metro areas of California, Massachusetts, and New York, the range is $102,700 to $177,905. For other locations, the range is $89,300 to $157,435. Final salary reflects the candidate's work location, experience, and education, among other factors.
