Job Description
The AI/ML Machine Learning Engineer role at Lockheed Martin's Space AI Talent Center centers on applying advanced AI and ML techniques to address complex Space-domain challenges in support of national security. The position involves collaboration across research, data science, software development, physics, and mathematics to develop innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team of experts spanning research, data science, software development, physics, and mathematics to advance AI and ML initiatives.
- Utilize state-of-the-art AI/ML tools and methods to tackle highly complex Space-domain problems in support of national security objectives.
- Drive innovation and contribute to creating practical solutions that address critical Space-domain issues through teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (examples include Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field.
- Advanced competence in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or Image Processing.
- Experience with modern software development tools and practices.
- TS/SCI security clearance required to start.

Compensation and Location
Salary range: USD 89,300 to 157,435 per year. The stated range is provided as a general guideline and may vary by final work location. The posting notes onsite work in Herndon, VA, with the possibility of additional nationwide and overseas positions.
Security and Eligibility
- This position requires eligibility for a government security clearance; US citizenship is required for consideration.
- Clearance level associated with this role is Top Secret.
