Job Description

LifeWave offers an onsite analytics career in Draper, Utah, underpinned by an inclusive culture and a commitment to accessibility. In this Analytics Data Engineer role focused on BI and Microsoft Fabric, you will own the technical evolution of Lifewave's global analytics environment, administer the Fabric ecosystem, and create data objects that empower BI analysts while upholding data health and governance standards. You will report to the Global Senior Manager of Business Intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data warehouses and lakehouses within the Microsoft Fabric platform.
  • Build data pipelines using Data Factory components and PySpark inside Fabric.
  • Manage Fabric workspace access controls and connections.
  • Implement automated data freshness checks and monitor pipeline failures and latency.
  • Develop robust, maintainable SQL for complex databases (DDL and DML; DQL preferred).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Sales, Marketing, Events, and Recognition teams.
  • Contribute to a scalable library of Semantic Models ready for visualization and analysis.
  • Define and enforce data naming conventions and workspace folder structures to enable global BI self-service at scale.
  • Assist in defining, documenting, and enforcing a business-ready data dictionary.
  • Prepare the environment for future scaling to support advanced transformations and AI readiness.
  • Manage CI/CD processes in a Fabric environment via GitHub integration.

Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent/higher.
  • 2–4 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
  • Mastery of T-SQL for warehouse management and complex data modeling (DDL and DML required, DQL preferred).
  • Functional knowledge of DAX for semantic modeling.
  • Experience connecting to and extracting data from REST or SOAP APIs via Data Factory objects and/or PySpark.
  • Functional knowledge of PySpark and Python.
  • Familiarity with the Fabric ecosystem, including lakehouses, data warehouses, and semantic models.
  • General understanding of star schema design to support BI reporting.
  • Proficiency with Power Query, Dataflows, and data pipelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Adaptability to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
