Job Description

Join Apple’s Wallets, Payments, and Commerce (WPC) team in Cupertino, CA (onsite) and help shape the future of Apple Card. This full-stack Data Scientist role focuses on turning data into clear opportunities, reliable forecasts, and measurable execution aligned to long-term strategy. You will partner across functions and with external partners to deliver data solutions, models, measurement plans, and executive reporting.

Salary: USD 175,500 - 311,700 per year. This position also includes comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, educational expense reimbursement (including tuition), and equity and stock purchase opportunities.

What you’ll do

  • Build scalable, production-ready workflows, including end-to-end ETL pipelines and predictive valuation models
  • Run descriptive and diagnostic analyses on large-scale datasets to surface insights that inform cross-functional priorities
  • Lead new product and feature evaluations using business, strategy, and financial analysis to support executive decision-making
  • Design, deploy, and evaluate measurement plans and feature launch reporting to drive higher adoption, improved business performance, and better customer experience
  • Conduct hypothesis-driven exploratory analysis, select appropriate ML algorithms, and develop end-to-end model pipelines
  • Research and implement new data science and data engineering technologies and methods to strengthen team capabilities
  • Create data visualizations and executive reports that translate results into actionable takeaways
  • Communicate insights to senior management by distilling complex work into concise, business-focused narratives
  • Forecast, analyze, and report Apple Card business performance through regular updates to senior leadership and monthly and quarterly business reviews

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, economics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data science roles with a proven track record in financial modeling, business analysis, finance, and data analysis
  • Deep understanding of product valuation modeling and marginal decisioning
  • Expert-level Python data work (for example, Pandas and Polars) with experience using SQL and relational databases, plus large-scale distributed systems such as Redshift
  • Proficiency with cloud data platforms including Snowflake and Databricks
  • Strong background building scalable production-ready workflows, end-to-end ETL, and predictive models that enable data-driven decisions
  • Exceptional data visualization and storytelling skills for executive-ready insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for non-technical and executive audiences
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to prioritize and deliver multiple initiatives under tight timelines

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Applied Econometrics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Analytics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Previous experience in the credit card industry at an issuer, network, or co-brand partner
  • Experience across a variety of financial products
