Job Description

We are seeking an AI Engineer with a strong software engineering foundation and proven AI/ML expertise to advance Leidos' AI and Emerging Technologies initiatives. This onsite role is based in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, with a salary range of USD 87,100 to 157,450 per year. Candidates should have at least five years of experience and hold a Bachelor's degree. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to capture requirements, assist with planning, and develop AI/ML tooling, including fine tuning large language models for vulnerability identification and mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain LLM orchestration layers that coordinate static analyzers, retrieval augmented generation pipelines, and automated testing workflows.
  • Create and optimize data preprocessing pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and vectorize product documentation, source code, and test results for LLM consumption.
  • Design database solutions that support RAG architectures, artifact storage, audit trails, and metadata management.
  • Architect and deploy networked AI tools within secure enclaves; perform performance profiling, optimization, and scalability analyses of mission systems.
  • Support security assessments and authority to operate (ATO) processes.
