Big Data Analyst
Job Description
Reinventing Geospatial, Inc. (RGi) is hiring a Big Data Analyst in Herndon, VA (onsite) to support dataset evaluation and analytics work for government decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Perform and develop dataset evaluations and assessments to inform government decision making.
- Shape data engineering approaches to improve analytic tradecraft within applications.
- Identify, document, and track gaps in the data corpus and in analytic capabilities.
- Collaborate with software developers to field requirements and provide feedback as application changes are implemented.
- Support end-users as an SME for questions and requests related to data and applications.
Requirements
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist, or similar role.
- Experience formulating a repeatable process for data evaluations and communicating findings to government officials.
- In-depth knowledge of technical data types, including Technical Telemetry Data and other telecommunication protocol data types (cellular and Wi-Fi).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with strong time-management and ability to independently manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments.
- Experience working with Software Engineers to provide feedback and validate technical implementation for custom applications.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark, or similar.
- Ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA, with ability to work in Springfield, VA as needed.

Preferred / What We Would Like to See
- Ability to translate technical conclusions and present them to a broader audience.
- Experience conducting geospatial analysis including Activity-Based Intelligence or Pattern of Life analysis.
- Experience applying, improving, and documenting innovative analytic methodologies while keeping them up to date.
- Experience with Elasticsearch/Kibana.
- Experience in a customer facing role.
- Familiarity with Gitlab and the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Experience with Jupyter Notebooks or Apache Zepplin.
- Experience working with other intel analysts and/or special operations customers.
Compensation
- USD 130,000 - 190,000 per year
