Cyber Data Analyst
Job Description
Peraton is seeking a Cyber Data Analyst to support a DoD customer from Linthicum, MD (onsite). The role focuses on cyber investigations, digital forensics, and cyber threat analysis, with responsibilities that include reporting, data collection, and operational support across multiple internal tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop cyber trend reports for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) partners.
- Support responses to RFIs, including data pulls and other required metrics.
- Monitor Jira tickets and provide status updates as needed.
- Identify opportunities to automate workflows within Jira and Confluence.
- Identify opportunities to automate daily operations and update SOPs accordingly.
- Identify opportunities to redesign Jira ticketing user interfaces.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the service management experience within Jira.
- Conduct open-source and closed-source research of indicators of compromise using common threat vendor tools.
- Analyze threat data from multiple sources.
- Perform peer reviews of team members’ cyber reports.
- Conduct outreach to DIB partners and customers to amplify information related to cyber reports and incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum experience: 8 years relevant experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD. A degree in one of the following fields is highly desired: Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering. An additional four years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail.
- Expertise in Jira and MS Excel, including experience creating pivot tables and other charts.
- Experience with Department of Defense Cyber Operations.
- Experience communicating with senior government or military leadership.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain.
- Knowledge of Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
- Familiarity with phishing and ransomware incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred certifications: CCE, CySA+, or GCTI.

Compensation and Benefits
Target Salary Range: USD 104,000 - 166,000 per yearly.
