Data Analyst
Job Description
Fortune Society seeks a Data Analyst to support the Behavioral Health Compliance unit, with a focus on programs and the department's new Department of Corrections initiative, based in Long Island City, NY (hybrid).
Responsibilities
- Generate and run reports and ongoing analyses from internal systems such as CaseWorthy and the EHR, along with external contract databases.
- Monitor staff data entry for accuracy and provide training or retraining as needed.
- Advise the supervisor on performance trends related to behavioral health contract goals and produce mid month analyses on key metrics, including preliminary monthly forecasts for Critical Indicators outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Evaluation and Quality Improvement (EQI) team and IT to develop and update tools that measure KPIs and track milestones.
- Develop working knowledge of the department's billing practices to serve as a backup for claims billing when necessary.
- Provide administrative support as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, public health, human services, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in data analysis and data management.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, and willingness to learn additional data platforms.
- Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and results-driven.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds in a culturally competent manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast paced, cross-functional environment.
