Job Description

System One is hiring a Data Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity in the healthcare payer domain. This hybrid role is based in Pittsburgh, PA and focuses on turning data into practical, business-ready insights while working closely with both business and technical teams to keep analytics stable from testing through production.

What you’ll deliver

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to build scalable analytical solutions
  • Use SQL, ETL, and data management technologies to provide actionable business insights
  • Support testing and help ensure solutions are ready for production
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support complex data and information management initiatives
  • Improve data quality across analytical workflows
  • Develop technical documentation to support maintainability and clarity for teams

Responsibilities in the healthcare payer environment

You will support complex data, analytics, and information management efforts specific to healthcare payer needs. The role includes contributing to analysis workflows such as functional and gap analysis, along with requirements gathering and definition, then translating that work into clear technical artifacts and testing materials.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in a Healthcare Payer environment
  • Advanced expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with ETL development and data engineering
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata
  • 7+ years experience in Functional Analysis
  • 7+ years experience in Gap Analysis
  • 7+ years experience in Business Requirements Gathering & Definition
  • Experience creating Technical Specifications
  • Experience creating Test Cases, Test Plans, and supporting QA
  • Strong documentation, QA, analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder collaboration skills

Skills and tools

SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, ETL, Teradata, SAS, and Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables), plus analytical reporting and business intelligence solutions.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with SAS
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables
  • Experience with analytical reporting and business intelligence solutions

Compensation: USD 90 per hour. Job type: contract (contract-to-hire).
