Data Analyst
Job Description
Tekla Research is seeking a Data Analyst to support naval aviation readiness by turning readiness, maintenance, and logistics data into decision-ready insights.
Responsibilities
- Analyze readiness, maintenance, and logistics data to improve aircraft availability and support program decisions.
- Monitor daily readiness metrics and identify drivers behind degraded mission capability.
- Support PMAs by balancing cost, schedule, and performance across sustainment activities.
- Monitor and evaluate aircraft readiness metrics, aircraft availability, and degraded or mission-capable status.
- Analyze BUNO-level maintenance and supply data.
- Identify trends and bottlenecks impacting readiness outcomes.
- Conduct root cause analysis for readiness issues, including supply delays, maintenance constraints, and component failures.
- Create clear, decision-focused briefings and reports for leadership.
- Translate complex material condition, maintenance cost, and schedule data into actionable insights.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, depot activities, supply organizations, and engineering teams to improve aircraft turnaround times and readiness outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong ability to analyze operational, maintenance, or logistics data and identify trends, risks, and root causes.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to communicate up and down the chain of command.
- Proven capability to deliver leadership briefings to O-6 and higher.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or a closely related field, or journey-level analytical capability.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, process improvement, and readiness forecasting.

Desired Experience
- Experience evaluating maintenance workflows and supply chain interactions to identify waste or inefficiencies.
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams, maintenance personnel, and program leadership to develop targeted interventions.
- Familiarity working in a DoD compliance-heavy environment.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma and other continuous process improvement methods.
- Practical knowledge of naval aviation maintenance procedures, including the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP).
- Knowledge of naval aviation data systems, including DECKPLATE and AMSRR.
- Experience with dashboard development and Databricks.
- Experience developing leadership briefings and translating complex technical, maintenance, and cost data into clear executive-level products.
- Ability to assess cost, schedule, and performance trade-offs in support of sustainment and lifecycle planning.

Location & Salary
- Lexington Park, MD (onsite)
- Projected salary range: USD 120,000 - 130,000 per year
- Salary is set based on experience and contractual requirements; the range is not a guarantee.
