Job Description

Optum is hiring a Data Analyst 2 to help drive outcomes of studies through rigorous analysis, review, forecasting, trend identification, and clear presentation of insights for operational and business planning. This role will also take ownership of savings logic governance for Provider Education, partnering across internal teams and external collaborators to keep logic, reporting, and performance communication consistent.

The position is based in Eden Prairie, MN with remote work available. The target salary range is USD 72,800 - 130,000 per year, and the minimum experience requirement is 3 years.

What you’ll do

  • Own the savings logic for Provider Education as the central point of responsibility
  • Align methodologies between Matrix Partners
  • Provide transparency and consistency of savings logic to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support Provider Education programs with data integrity, reporting, and logic-related issue resolution
  • Serve as a liaison between Matrix Partners and ensure alignment with PE operational leadership
  • Translate savings logic and explain program methodology to internal matrix partners for consistent understanding of performance metrics
  • Communicate savings methodology, identification logic, and program performance to external clients, including Coding, Finance, and Audit leadership
  • Ideate and support the development of dashboards and reporting solutions to improve visibility into PE performance, leveraging AI capabilities
  • Partner with PE Operations and development resources to intake new coding modules and perform savings estimation
  • Execute ad-hoc scripts that support invoicing and report values to Finance

Minimum qualifications

  • 3+ years of Microsoft SQL coding experience, including writing queries and creating schemas or maintaining tables (or similar)
  • 3+ years of SQL Server Management Studio experience (or similar)
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Excel
  • 3+ years of Tableau (or similar data visualization tools)
  • 3+ years of Alteryx (or similar ETL and transformation tools)
