Data Analytics Engineer

Data Analytics Engineer role at Sabre Systems LLC in Lexington Park, MD, onsite, supporting acquisition, processing, visualization, and analysis of diverse data sources for the NAVAIR Digital Department, collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to develop data assets and documentation for analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Work with data engineers and developers to acquire, process, and format data both at source and post-extraction to create analytical products
• Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to ready diverse data sources for analytics work
• Liaise with business and operational stakeholders and customers to understand business needs, metrics, and goals and objectives
• Translate and map user requirements to underlying data sources and develop plans for how those data sources can be extracted
• Work with data scientists, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to develop thorough documentation for data sources and pipelines, such as data dictionaries and flow models

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field is required; Master’s degree is preferred
• Three (3) years of related experience is required
• Thorough working knowledge of at least two analytical programming languages (R, Python, Scala, SQL)
• Working knowledge of code repositories and version control (Git)
• Basic working knowledge of at least one BI/visualization tool (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI)
• Technical and business domain focused customer experience
• Security+ certification required within 90 days of hire
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher required
• Selected candidate must pass a background investigation
