Data Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Royal Caribbean Group is hiring a Data Analytics Engineer to join the Revenue Planning & Analysis team in Miami. This full-time, onsite role centers on designing, building, and deploying data processes, reporting capabilities, and analytics solutions that support revenue forecasting and business decisions. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify and document reporting requirements
- Partner with management and team members to understand and refine data analysis and reporting needs
- Engage with technical stakeholders to conduct code reviews and gather feedback
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of data processes, BI reporting, and user tools
- Recommend data architecture and engineering structures needed to support reporting
- Create new reports by writing queries or implementing new data processes
- Aggregate large datasets using SQL, Python, and other analytics tools for analysis
- Develop data strategies around data structures, identifying critical information and retrieval/analysis tools
- Conduct research and analysis on large data sets, including data exploration and trend analysis
- Continuously seek opportunities for business improvements, revenue opportunities, and efficiency gains
- Clearly explain tools and results to teams and management
- Develop and deliver concise presentations translating technical methods into business terms
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in data analysis, data mining, business case development, or related analytical projects
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Strong proficiency in query/reporting tools such as SQL, Python, or other development tools
- Understanding of forecasting, data cleansing, and transformations
- Experience with databases including Oracle, Databricks, or SQL Server
- Strong quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement applications using programming languages
- Experience with SQL is required
- Experience supporting and interpreting reporting using business intelligence tools; Power BI and Databricks experience is a plus
- Ability to handle dynamic workload balancing across short- and long-term projects
- Clear and effective communication to both business and technical audiences in written and spoken formats
