Data Analytics Engineer

This remote role centers on building a global analytics platform that turns data into actionable insights for internal teams and thousands of clients. You will design embedded analytics experiences and collaborate across engineering and data workstreams to deliver data products that solve business problems with a data driven mindset. Responsibilities

• Consolidate and process data from multiple raw and unrefined data stores to fuel reporting and analytics capabilities.
• Design and deploy core data product visualizations, reports, models, and performance improvements to drive outcomes.
• Partner with IT teams and business units to capture data requirements and deliver actionable insights and solutions.
• Analyze trends in complex IT data to identify opportunities for process enhancements and policy development.
• Present clear, concise analytics that deliver distinctive industry insights from core travel data for clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Advanced knowledge of diverse databases, including SQL based RDBMS and document stores.
• Hands on experience with a data and analytics programming language such as Python, R, or Scala.
• Experience with web application development and front end reactive frameworks like VueJS or React, plus familiarity with middle and back end software development methodologies.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and source control using Git or alternatives.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related data platforms.
• Solid grasp of the data lifecycle, from pipeline development to data warehouse architecture and analytics enablement.
• Senior level experience with more than one cloud based analytics platform such as Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
• Experience building semantic models across large datasets in scalable and performant ways.
• Exposure to cloud based data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Azure Data Lake.
• Experience implementing governance and compliance frameworks for analytics data products.
• Curious, diagnostic mindset for query and system tuning and performance optimization.
• Track record of building bespoke data products from the ground up that integrate analytics and business intelligence for visuals and core functionality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with stakeholders.
• Adept at crafting queries, writing reports, and presenting results.
