Job Description

SumUp is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join our Boulder, Colorado team onsite, where you will design and maintain data models, dashboards, and the underlying data infrastructure while cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders to empower self-serve analytics. This role centers on building reliable data assets and guiding analytics across the business, supporting rapid decision making with clear, data-driven insights.

  • Create and maintain Tableau dashboards and data sources that stakeholders across the business can trust and use independently.
  • Provide ongoing data operations support, handling ad hoc requests, resolving reporting issues, and diagnosing pipeline problems.
  • Help modernize the data stack by enabling self-service analytics through AI-assisted tooling.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships autonomously, gathering requirements, setting expectations, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience building or structuring datasets, not just running queries on othersโ€™ work.
  • Strong SQL and DBT Core skills with hands-on Snowflake experience.
  • Proven ability to deliver Tableau dashboards that stakeholders rely on.
  • Effective communicator who can own stakeholder conversations, gather requirements, manage expectations, and push back on unclear requests.
  • High attention to data quality and the capacity to troubleshoot problems independently before escalation.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted data tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.
