Job Description

Haynes International is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join the on-site team in Kokomo, Indiana. The role focuses on turning raw data into reliable, analysis-ready datasets and building the pipelines, analytics systems, and reporting solutions that empower business stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or a related field and at least five years of relevant experience are typically required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver datasets that are transformed, tested, documented, and ready for analysis, with code reviews as part of the process.
  • Construct data aggregation pipelines using SQL, .NET, Targit, and Power BI.
  • Develop robust data models and architectures to support analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytics needs and provide comprehensive reports, dashboards, and models.
  • Identify and implement optimizations to enhance query performance, reduce processing time, and boost productivity.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable ETL processes.
  • Implement and maintain analytics systems, data warehouses, or data lakes to store and manage structured and unstructured data.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tools such as Targit and Power BI to support data‑driven decision making.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analytics Manager to integrate Power BI and data governance across the organization.
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy by implementing data validation, monitoring, and error‑handling processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or related field.
  • At least five years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, software engineering, or a similar role.
  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and data analysis.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation, plus familiarity with data warehousing concepts/tools such as Targit, Ignite, and Power BI; familiarity with Azure for cloud data storage and processing.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as C++ and .NET for data manipulation and scripting.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices; strong problem-solving abilities.
