Data Engineer

DCI Solutions is looking for a Data Engineer to join their onsite team in Washington, DC. This role centers on integrating data, transforming insights, and building Spark-driven data workflows and applications to inform operational decisions within a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on a cross-functional team to tackle high-priority data challenges as a Data Engineer
• Integrate data, transform insights, and develop applications that support operational decision-making
• Set up transfers of data feeds from source systems into designated locations
• Create data transformations and derive new datasets using Spark for distributed computing
• Monitor build progress and diagnose issues to maintain workflow reliability
• Design applications that address real-world operational questions
• Handle RFIs related to the platform’s data footprint
• Iterate with product teams while debugging and understanding the code behind the core platform

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a related field is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in data transformation
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience with Spark, PySpark, and/or Pandas
• Extensive Python programming experience
• Extensive Java programming experience
• Extensive TypeScript/JavaScript development experience
• Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures as they apply to development and problem solving
• Experience with Foundry is preferred
• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
