Data Engineer
Job Description
Leidos seeks a Data Engineer to support the United States Space Force with designing, developing, testing, and deploying defensive cyber capabilities. The role centers on evaluating existing data infrastructure to define a data strategy roadmap and establishing comprehensive plans for data collection, storage, and analysis, while enabling cross-functional collaboration across teams.

USD 107,900 - 195,050 per year
Responsibilities
- Assess current data infrastructure, landscape, and security posture to craft a data strategy roadmap
- Develop an executable action plan in a Microsoft tool for the United States Space Force
- Establish and maintain a plan covering data collection, storage, and analysis
- Promote cross-functional collaboration by partnering with the Data Strategist to align data infrastructure with mission needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may substitute for a degree
- Understanding of data security and access controls in line with DoD and Air Force Data Strategy policies and procedures
- Experience designing and maintaining data architectures, models, schemas, and data warehouses
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI; experience producing executive-level operational reports and briefings
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with senior leaders
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work with data at a granular level
- Understanding of organizational data governance
- Familiarity with DoD and Air Force Data Strategy policies and procedures
- General understanding of data analytics
- Comprehensive understanding of the data lifecycle from ingestion to visualization
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Grafana, Apache Superset, Tableau, and Power BI
