Job Description

Pathway Partners is supporting a client team that is deploying multiple applications for a government agency, and they need an experienced Data Engineer to help deliver reliable reporting and data workflows. This hybrid role is based in New York, NY, with on-site expectations to support project execution and ongoing data import and analytics work, including Microsoft Power BI development.

The position centers on importing key data from established reporting environments, producing business reporting for key metrics, and acting as a Microsoft Power BI subject matter expert within the organization’s Power BI framework. The salary range for this role is USD 110,000 to 124,000 per year, and candidates should have at least 4 years of relevant experience.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in managing project execution from start through completion
  • Create business reports that summarize key metrics after data is imported from reporting databases
  • Import key data points on key factors from multiple reporting sources, including reporting databases and an Enterprise data warehouse
  • Build ad-hoc reports based on requested data metrics
  • Create business reports for other departments, including tracking with relevant metrics
  • Serve as a Microsoft Power BI SME, advising on business report creation and workspace management within the new Microsoft Power BI framework as needed
  • Create new Power BI business reports, datasets, and dashboards, including paginated reports when required

What you bring

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Oracle and MS SQL Server 2028, including SQL and PL/SQL
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Microsoft Power BI, MS Excel, and VB Script
