Data Engineer II
Job Description
The Data Engineer II role centers on building and maintaining data warehouse and data lake infrastructure and BI applications using the AWS big data stack. The position encompasses developing and managing ETLs, creating unified data models for analytics, delivering dashboards for executive insight, enabling self-serve analytics across internal users, and mentoring fellow engineers.
Location and Compensation
Location: Bellevue, WA (onsite). Salary: USD 132,100 - 178,800 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support data warehouse and data lake infrastructure using the AWS big data stack, including Python, Redshift, QuickSight, Glue/Lake Formation, EMR/Spark/Scala, and Athena.
- Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to source data from diverse commercial, sales, and operational systems, establishing a unified analytics data model.
- Utilize business intelligence tools such as QuickSight to create dashboards consumed by senior leadership.
- Enable self-serve analytics for technical and non-technical internal customers and provide ad hoc reporting support as needed.
- Develop a deep understanding of extensive data sources to determine when and which data to use to solve specific business problems.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Finance, Service Engineering Teams, and Sales Teams to support new analytics requirements on a day-to-day basis.
- Manage multiple requests concurrently with prioritization as needed.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes and drive results.
- Mentor other engineers, positively influence team culture, and contribute to team growth.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling.
- 3+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
