Data Engineer II
Job Description
Deloitte is seeking a Data Engineer II to design, develop, and deliver data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows for ingesting, transforming, and delivering structured and unstructured data
- Develop and optimize data models, integration patterns, and storage solutions for analytics, reporting, and operational use cases
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define data requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement data quality controls
- Build and support batch and near-real-time processing solutions using cloud-based and distributed data technologies
- Document technical designs, data lineage, and deployment processes; support testing, release, and production stabilization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- 1+ years using Python and SQL to conduct analysis and build ETL pipelines for production
- 1+ years monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and supporting data quality and system reliability
- Ability to travel 10% on average based on work, clients, and industries/sectors served
- Must possess an active U.S. Secret security clearance and be able to maintain it for the duration of employment and assignment
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, D.C. at least three days a week
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred
- Master’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a quantitative field)
- Experience in cloud platform development and analytics (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks)
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent dashboarding platforms

- Team designs and delivers data engineering solutions to modernize data platforms and enable analytics, automation, and business insight
- Works across the data lifecycle: ingestion, transformation, storage, quality, and delivery of data products
- Collaborates with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, and secure solutions

Compensation
- Estimated annual salary range: USD 84,400 - 140,600
- May be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program subject to program rules
