Job Description
This Data Engineer II role on the Network Design Planning & Engineering team focuses on architecting scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support network optimization and decision-making across Amazon's US shipping network. The position is onsite in Bellevue, WA, with a salary range of USD 132,100 - 178,800 per year. The role emphasizes building real-time data solutions and governance frameworks to enable faster deliveries, lower costs, and a more sustainable transportation network.
Responsibilities
- Create and deploy data pipelines for the various Network design programs.
- Build foundational data infrastructure for network design models to enable rapid and automated runs, with end-to-end automated data flows.
- Assess business requirements for design scenario analysis, define data architecture approaches, and deliver a user-friendly platform enabling NDPE program managers to perform what-if analyses.
- Define data engineering processes that utilize AWS services to improve accessibility, redundancy, data integrity, cost efficiency, and storage needs.
- Create high-quality solutions to accelerate product and model development that address business needs in a scalable format, while anticipating future requirements.
- Collaborate with Research/Applied Scientists, Data Engineers, BIEs, Data Scientists and Product/Program Managers to understand business and technical requirements and drive decisions that streamline programs.
- Lead the technical design of the data infrastructure with strong coding skills (preferably Python), including code deployment and maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum three years of data engineering experience.
- At least one year of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes.
- At least one year of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies.
- At least one year of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling.
- At least one year of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL.
- At least one year of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using Oracle.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
