Job Description

Data Engineer (LFI, Data Governance) (Phoenix, AZ, hybrid) will build reporting solutions and support regulatory data needs while aligning work with data governance and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Use SQL to query and analyze data; lead design, build, and maintenance of advanced dashboards and reporting tools for key business performance metrics while maintaining data and reporting standards
  • Identify and develop automation techniques using available technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on large, complex datasets to surface trends, patterns, and anomalies; provide data-based recommendations for operational improvements and strategy
  • Translate business unit reporting and analytics needs into analytical tasks; present findings and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Design and implement processes that support data accuracy and reliability through validation and quality checks
  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance data infrastructure and improve data accessibility
  • Develop business requirements as needed for LFI Regulatory Reporting, incorporating changes required by FRB regulations for a Category III institution
  • Problem solve related to requirements, defects, and data validation
  • Perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure accuracy and integrity of data
  • Lead and support junior staff and the broader team

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics & Data Management or a similar field
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) with the ability to communicate insights clearly and actionably
  • Experience with project management and managing multiple priorities and deliverables
  • Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services
  • Intermediate knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills

Regulatory Reporting Context

  • Work with teams focused on developing, testing, and executing regulatory reporting data for LFI status
  • Be familiar with Reg YY and related reporting regulations, including FR 2052a, FR Y-14, and FR Y-15
  • Experience with increasing responsibility in regulatory reporting or other areas at a bank is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Reg YY and other related regulatory reporting is preferred

  • Experience with predictive modeling, statistical analysis, or machine learning is preferred
