Data Engineer, Product Analytics
Job Description
Meta’s Product Analytics Data Engineer role focuses on designing and building scalable data solutions that help improve growth, strategy, and user experience across Meta products. In this onsite position in Seattle, WA, you will manage data infrastructure planning, deliver reliable data models and pipelines, and uphold privacy, security, compliance, and data quality.
What you’ll do
- Manage and execute data warehouse plans for a product or a group of products to address well-scoped problems
- Identify the data required for business problems, implement logging to support data availability, and work with data infrastructure teams to triage and resolve issues
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and communicate key data insights clearly
- Build data expertise and apply data controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operational readiness for areas you own
- Design, build, and launch new data models and visualizations in production using common development toolkits
- Independently design, build, and launch new data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes in production, including mentoring others on efficient queries
- Support existing production processes and implement optimized solutions with limited guidance
- Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data sets within your areas of ownership
Minimum qualifications
- 2+ years of experience where the primary responsibility involves working with data (for example: data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (such as Python, C++, C#, Scala, or others)

Preferred qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (for example, efficiency gains or quality improvements)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices, such as risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews
- Evidence of ongoing AI skill development (for example, prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Location: Seattle, WA (onsite). Salary: USD 114,000 - 173,000 per year.
