Data Engineer (Python)

Openkyber is seeking an experienced Data Engineer (Python) onsite in Oregon, focused on Google Cloud Platform data engineering to design, build, and operate cloud-native data pipelines using Python, SQL, Terraform, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Strong grasp of data integration, data quality, and data architecture patterns
• Competence with Agile software development methodologies
• Experience in the Insurance domain is a plus

Requirements

• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Workflows
• Strong Python programming skills
• Solid SQL capabilities
• Hands-on Terraform experience
• CI/CD tooling and workflows expertise
• Experience with Git workflows
• 8+ years of Information Technology experience
• 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, Workflows)
• 5+ years of IAM experience
• Understanding of cloud-native solutions and architecture
• Extensive hands-on Python experience
• Extensive hands-on SQL experience
• Extensive hands-on Terraform experience
• Extensive hands-on CI/CD experience
• Extensive hands-on Git workflows experience
• Experience with Attunity
• Experience with AutoSys
• Airflow oriented work including creation, execution, and monitoring of DAGs
• Strong background in software development practices
• Production support experience
• Debugging and performance tuning capabilities
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with AI tools
• Effective communication for collaboration with global teams and clear technical documentation for non-technical stakeholders
