Data Engineer Sr - Level 3

Lockheed Martin is hiring a Senior Level 3 Data Engineer to deliver full-stack data solutions across the data lifecycle. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ETL, reporting, analytics, and security mechanisms, with an emphasis on reliable performance in production systems.

Role overview

You will work end to end on data solution delivery, from analyzing and profiling data to creating conceptual, logical, and physical data model designs, and then architecting ETL, reporting, and analytics. The position also includes maintaining system performance by diagnosing production and application development issues and supporting ongoing releases through evaluation and integration.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate unorganized data into databases or analysis-ready data sources
• Design and implement data solutions by defining functional capabilities, security, and backup and recovery specifications
• Deliver across the full data solution lifecycle, including data analysis and profiling, data modeling, ETL architecture and design, plus reporting and analytics work
• Maintain data system performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems
• Calculate optimum parameter values, evaluate new releases, and support integration and installation
• Define standards, best practices, and certification processes for data objects

Requirements

• Experience with SAP HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server, including relational database principles and SQL; exposure to SQLScript, PL/SQL, and/or Transact-SQL for procedures, functions, and views
• Experience with Tableau, IBM Cognos, or other data visualization tools
• Experience with data mining and cleansing, including recognizing and correcting errors or discrepancies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness, and/or ETL and data warehousing principles
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues

• Background or working knowledge across multiple languages such as Python, Microsoft (VBA), SQL, and other tools and use cases
• Relational database principles and strong SQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Compensation and benefits

The position is based in Fort Worth, TX (onsite) and offers a full-time salary range of $85,300 to $158,300 per year.
