This role is a Data Scientist position within the National Park Service, stationed onsite in Homestead, Florida at Everglades National Park.

Salary: USD 79,533 - 103,399 per year

Minimum Experience: 1 year

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or related field

Oversee and maintain the SFNRC relational database environment, guiding efforts to improve data access and overall efficiency
Design data management protocols to safeguard data integrity across multiple purpose built databases within the SFNRC framework, and collaborate with relational databases to implement automated data collection, analysis, and visualization workflows
Apply analytical and geostatistical methods to analyze spatial patterns across environmental, biological, and ecological datasets to address natural resource challenges in Everglades National Park
Engage regularly with SFNRC scientists including biologists, ecologists, hydrologists, modelers, and water quality specialists to analyze large-scale data, interpret results, and present findings while advising on data collection methods
Develop and coordinate protocols for data management and integration, oversee publication of data and metadata, and ensure public access to scientific data

Degree: Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a closely related field at bachelor's level or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education note: A combination of education and experience as described, such as graduate-level study toward a PhD or a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree related to the position
