Data Scientist

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Data Scientist to translate structured and unstructured data into actionable insights using machine learning and artificial intelligence. The role focuses on partnering with clients to build algorithms and scalable data workflows that support objective, data-driven decision-making on global challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to understand questions and needs, then explore data-rich environments to identify relevant information.
• Design algorithms and systems using appropriate tools and frameworks to convert disparate datasets into objective answers that support informed decisions.
• Apply deep knowledge of data meaning and usage to ensure analytics and models produce reliable results.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with programming languages including R, Python, or C.
• Experience designing, developing, or leveraging relational databases (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MS SQL.
• Experience creating software to retrieve, parse, and process structured and unstructured data, including scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
• Experience programming mathematical models.
• Experience with data visualization tools and best practices.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including testing and version control.
• Ability to cleanse data and develop scripts or programs to convert various data types into usable formats.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team, prioritize multiple tasks, and deliver products on time within quality standards.
• TS/SCI clearance (required).
• Bachelor’s degree.

Location and Work Model

• Location: Tampa, FL (onsite)

With an onsite work model, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration alongside colleagues and customers as required by the role.

Compensation

• Salary range: USD 99,000 - 225,000 per year
• Compensation is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
• The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD).
• This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
