Data Scientist
Job Description
New Wave People is hiring a hands-on Data & AI Architect to design and deliver enterprise data and artificial-intelligence solutions with stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders across all departments to elicit, clarify, and shape emerging or ambiguous data and AI use cases into scoped opportunities.
- Convert business needs into requirements documents that technical and non-technical audiences can understand and act on.
- Present solution proposals, including trade-offs and value, to stakeholders and governance bodies, and drive requirements through formal approval.
- Architect end-to-end data and AI solutions across ingestion, storage, transformation, modeling, serving, and consumption layers.
- Design and implement solutions using agentic development tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability.
- Define reference architectures, patterns, and standards for data and AI across multi-cloud and multi-database environments.
- Ensure enterprise alignment for security, privacy, data governance, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, platform, and product teams to move approved designs into production.
- Mentor engineers and analysts, provide technical guidance, and promote strong data and AI practices across the organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, software engineering, or a closely related field, with 6+ years in an architecture-focused role.
- Multi-cloud experience with hands-on design and delivery across at least two major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Multi-database experience across relational, NoSQL, analytical/warehouse, and vector or graph database technologies.
- Multi-AI experience with practical work across AI/ML and generative-AI frameworks, models, and platforms (LLMs, ML pipelines, RAG, model orchestration).
- Strong requirements-gathering and stakeholder-facing skills, including the ability to extract clarity from ambiguity and write actionable specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences and secure buy-in.
- Hands-on experience delivering solutions with agentic development tooling and AI-assisted development workflows.
- Proven experience taking solutions from concept through approval to production implementation.

Job Details

- Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote
- Type: Contract
- Hours: M-F, 37.5 hours weekly
- Compensation: USD 65 - 67 per hour
- Unpaid lunch break
- No holiday work, overtime, or travel required
- No parking provided
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent primary experience on the Microsoft Azure stack (Azure Data services, Synapse/Fabric, Azure OpenAI, Azure ML).
- Hands-on development experience with Microsoft Copilot tooling (GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, M365 Copilot). Exceptional candidates without Copilot experience may be considered.
- Experience in large, complex, public-sector, transit, or infrastructure organizations.
- Relevant cloud or data architecture certifications.
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance, MLOps, and responsible-AI practices.
