Blu Omega is hiring a Data Scientist for an onsite role in Washington, DC supporting a federal financial data analysis program.

Retrieve, process, and analyze large-scale financial datasets, including Bank Secrecy Act data and related transaction information
Perform entity resolution and data cleansing to maintain data quality and integrity across large datasets
Develop and implement analytical models and algorithms using quantitative techniques such as:
- Statistical sampling
- Regression analysis
- Link analysis
- Geospatial analysis
- Social network analysis
- Data mining
Query, filter, and visualize data using agency tools and platforms, including BSA Search and Transaction Grid Search
Build custom datasets, queries, and code to support analytical workflows and reporting needs
Communicate project progress, analytical findings, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders

Experience working with large-scale financial data environments, including transactional data from SWIFT, CHIPS, and book transfer systems
Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act data, including SARs, CTRs, and Form 8300 filings
Proficiency with Python and Jupyter Notebook, plus R, NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn
Strong foundation in statistical methods and data analysis techniques
Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns and deliver actionable insights

Experience in data mapping, cleansing, and data validation
Understanding of international bank wire transfer formats, including SWIFT, CHIPS, and book transfer systems
Experience communicating analytical results to senior leaders and stakeholders
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities

Salary Range: USD 120,000 - 180,000 per yearly
Final compensation depends on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance
