Data Scientist

Use data science, machine learning, and AI to convert structured and unstructured information into insights that support decision-making for global challenges.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to understand questions and needs, then explore data-rich environments to identify the key pieces of information
• Design algorithms and systems using appropriate tools and frameworks to transform disparate data into objective answers
• Apply a deep understanding of data meaning, context, and how it can be used
• Use analytical skills and data science knowledge to drive real-world impact
• Develop approaches that help clients make informed decisions based on findings
• Communicate results to support decision-making for audiences with varying technical backgrounds

Requirements

• Experience performing quantitative analysis, developing visualizations, and processing complex data to create data-driven insights
• Experience with statistical methods and general-purpose programming languages, including R and Python
• Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
• Experience using SQL for complex database queries to support ETL (extract, transform, load) procedures
• Experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores used for big data analysis
• Experience communicating information to audiences with varying technical knowledge
• Experience with source control and collaboration tools, including Git or Atlassian tools
• Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Nice to Have

• Experience deploying data workflows and models in platforms such as Palantir Foundry or Gotham

• Experience working with LLMs, generative AI systems, or agentic frameworks, especially for task automation

Location and Work Model

• Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration requirements as needed

Compensation

• Projected compensation range: $77,600 to $176,000 per year (annualized USD)
