Data Scientist - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation is hiring an experienced Data Scientist - AI Trainer to help evaluate AI-generated quantitative analysis and to create new quantitative problems for training and benchmarking AI systems. This role is fully remote with a flexible schedule, and work is paid hourly via PayPal. You will directly influence how future AI systems reason about data, statistics, and real-world analytics.

What you’ll do

• Review and assess AI-generated quantitative work, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data-driven insights, with a focus on technical accuracy and real-world validity.
• Design quantitative problems that train and benchmark AI systems across areas such as forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
• Write explanations and code that are clear, well-documented, and usable for analytical workflows.
• Provide feedback that helps shape subsequent AI model development for quantitative reasoning.

What you bring

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a quantitative role or research environment (for example: data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or a related field).
• Coding experience with comfort writing and reviewing analytical code end-to-end.
• Practical experience using statistical methods, predictive modeling, and experiment design, including examples like A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
• English fluency (native or bilingual) and strong writing skills.
• Education: a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is preferred (Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar). A master’s or PhD is a plus.
• Credentials are a plus (for example: Kaggle Competition ranking, AWS/GCP ML certifications, or equivalent demonstrated expertise).
