Data Scientist and AI Specialist

NexOne, Inc. is hiring a Data Scientist and AI Specialist in Clearfield, UT (onsite) to help architect, build, and deploy AI solutions that turn unstructured data into context-aware applications. This role focuses on practical implementation with modern LLM tooling, scalable vector search, and knowledge graphs that support stronger retrieval and reasoning.

What you’ll build

You will design and deliver AI applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) through APIs and open-source frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex. The work includes implementing end-to-end Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns with semantic search and automated evaluation, then integrating those capabilities into production cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize applications that use Large Language Models (LLMs) via APIs and open-source frameworks (for example, LangChain and LlamaIndex).
• Architect, manage, and scale vector search infrastructure for high-performance semantic search and retrieval for RAG pipelines, including tools such as Pinecone, Milvus, Qdrant, Weaviate, and pgvector.
• Design and construct Knowledge Graphs to organize complex domain data and integrate them with LLMs and vector search to improve reasoning and context retrieval (GraphRAG).
• Write robust, production-ready Python code to automate data ingestion, preprocessing, embedding generation, and model evaluation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Managers to deploy AI models into scalable cloud production environments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence, with strong focus on NLP and generative AI.
• Advanced proficiency in Python scripting and modern ML libraries.
• BS in a Technical Domain.
• Must be a US citizen.

Technology focus

Work will involve LLMs and the surrounding ecosystem, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Qdrant, Weaviate, pgvector), GraphRAG, and Python. Additional technologies in the stack include C# .NET Core, JavaScript/React, MS SQL Server, and Docker.
