Job Description
This federal data science role applies computational genomics methods to large biodiversity datasets, with on site work in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Act as a recognized expert in data science, genomic data integration and interoperability, operations research, and data management with analytics and visualization.
- Plan, conduct, and supervise bioinformatics research and analyses of genomic, transcriptomic, metagenomic, and Next Generation Sequencing datasets, among others.
- Apply advanced data science techniques and governance to data management, analytics, and visualization to inform projects.
- Provide informal and formal training in bioinformatics and genomics through workshops, carpentries, seminars, and short courses.
- Produce publicly accessible training videos demonstrating genomic analysis workflows.
- Leverage advanced programming skills and analytical approaches to analyze datasets consisting of qualitative, quantitative, structured, and unstructured data.
