Job Description

PG&E Corporation is hiring an expert to bridge engineering records, 3D CAD workflows, and program leadership for Gas Transmission Engineering and Design. This role focuses on integrating 3D modeling into project processes while overseeing end-to-end records lifecycle management, SAP-related drawing custody, and reporting dashboards that support data integrity and visibility in the business.

Working in a hybrid setup from San Ramon, CA (with San Ramon; Pleasanton listed, and headquarters planned to change to Pleasanton in October of 2026), you will coordinate across records, engineering, operations, and IT to keep project information accurate, indexed, and usable for decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the records lifecycle for engineering and drafting deliverables by coordinating with engineering records, as-built activities, and project teams to maintain timely and accurate processing.
  • Act as a backup Program Manager to support reporting, metrics tracking, and stakeholder communications so current data is available for decisions.
  • Track and resolve kickbacks by coordinating with engineering and drafting teams.
  • Coordinate SAP tasks related to drawing custody, work order management, and asset tracking.
  • Maintain data entry quality and visibility by enhancing existing Power BI dashboards, SharePoint, and other performance reports tied to Gas Transmission metrics and tracking.
  • Ensure accuracy and proper indexing in systems of record such as ProjectWise and Documentum.
  • Streamline data flows between engineering, operations, and IT systems through cross-functional partnership.
  • Manage check-in and check-out processes for 3D models and project deliverables to improve workflow efficiency and data integrity.
  • Support process improvement by incorporating 3D modeling tools and workflows into project practices.
  • Coordinate AutoCAD-related records inquiries, connecting designers and drafters to the appropriate Autodesk resources and technical support.
  • Maintain 3D block and component libraries, assisting with consistency checks and design application readiness verification.
  • Support 3D model version control and drawing custody across the project lifecycle in coordination with engineering and records teams.
  • Create and maintain job aids, guidelines, and records management process documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and support change management activities.
  • Support validation of 3D model packages, coordinate multidisciplinary review workflows, and assist with finalization of project outputs.
  • Provide expert consulting by analyzing and documenting business requirements and complex end-to-end business processes, coordinating with IT to develop and implement solutions for information needs.
  • Identify, propose, and influence solutions to complex business problems while communicating proactively, delegating as appropriate.
  • Contribute to teams defining, reviewing, and approving requirements for the business needs solution.
  • Participate in UATs and perform quality reviews of test results; may support training, change management, and communications related to system implementations.
  • Contribute to business case development and participate in project estimates.
  • May write manuals, Requests for Change, and procedures, and typically provides mentorship and guidance to less experienced employees.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 years of job related experience in Business, IT or Engineering fields.
  • Experience participating in high-complexity projects at an expert level or in a leadership role.
  • Continuous education in IT and business specific areas.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in IT-Information Technology management or related experience, 6 years.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with records management, document control, or engineering records workflows.
  • 8+ years of experience with Autodesk CAD software environments (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or Civil 3D).
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience reading construction drawings/redlines.
  • Experience with Bluebeam (sessions) or similar markup and review tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and mentoring capabilities.
  • Experience with SAP workflow management and document control systems (e.g., ProjectWise, Documentum, SharePoint).
  • 8+ years of experience with Power BI dashboards and data reporting.
  • Familiarity with as-built or engineering records processes in a utility or industrial environment.
  • Experience with SharePoint administration, configuration, or site development.

Compensation and Location

  • Pay range (Bay Area): $122,000 - $194,000 per year
  • Location: San Ramon, CA (hybrid). Also listed: San Ramon; Pleasanton. Headquarters planned to be changed to Pleasanton in October of 2026.
  • Benefits: Eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
