Expert Commercial Data Scientist

Nestlé Purina is seeking an Expert Commercial Data Scientist to help shape how AI and machine learning create measurable commercial outcomes across the enterprise. In this onsite role in St. Louis, MO, you will partner with commercial and marketing teams to turn advanced analytics and GenAI capabilities into scalable solutions used in retail and direct consumer engagement.

This position focuses on building, deploying, and operationalizing models end to end, while advising business leaders on high-value opportunities and translating ambiguous strategic priorities into practical AI and data science implementations.

What you’ll do

• Serve as a trusted advisor to brand, marketing, sales, and category leaders by reimagining ways of working, identifying high-value opportunities, framing ambiguous business problems, and translating strategic priorities into scalable AI and advanced analytics
• Lead the design, development, validation, deployment, and adoption of advanced statistical, predictive, optimization, machine learning, and Generative AI solutions for complex consumer-facing and go-to-market challenges
• Design and operationalize GenAI solutions, including RAG pipelines, AI agents, copilots, and multimodal AI applications, where appropriate to support marketing and commercial workflows
• Direct model deployment strategy with AIOps/MLOps, monitoring, model governance, and lifecycle management
• Create reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practices that improve the scalability and maintainability of AI solutions
• Mentor junior data scientists and provide thought leadership on emerging technologies such as agentic AI, knowledge graphs, and autonomous decision-making systems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Marketing Analytics, Applied Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience advising senior business stakeholders, shaping ambiguous strategic problems, influencing decisions, and translating complex AI and analytical concepts into business outcomes
• 7+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years applying data science, advanced analytics, or machine learning to business problems in marketing, consumer, commercial, e-commerce, sales, or other related customer-facing areas

Compensation and benefits

• Salary: $133,000 to $188,000 per year

Preferred qualifications
