Financial Data Analyst- Business Intelligence - Full Time (Hybrid)
Job Description
The Guthrie Clinic seeks a Financial Data Analyst - Business Intelligence to join the Strategic Insights team in a hybrid role based in Sayre, PA.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy enterprise financial dashboards and reports, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and service line performance.
- Support monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis through automated BI solutions.
- Translate Finance requirements into clear data models, metrics, and visualizations.
- Ensure consistent financial definitions across departments and reports.
- Create and maintain requirements, project plans, training materials, and related documentation for each solution.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Maintain high attention to detail to ensure quality assurance, data/reporting accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Design and maintain semantic models, data marts, and datasets supporting financial analytics.
- Leverage data engineering and visualization tools, specifically Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Familiarize data architecture designs such as data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse, with the ability to access data for ETL to support advanced analytics, BI platforms, reports, and dashboards.
- Integrate data from ERP, EHR, cost accounting, payroll, and ancillary systems.
- Apply data governance, security, and access controls aligned with IT and Finance standards.
- Ensure reporting complies with SOX controls, audit requirements, and internal financial controls.
- Create and maintain documentation and training materials including report logic, data sources, assumptions, and calculation methodologies.
- Support Finance leadership during audits, regulatory reviews, and leadership inquiries.
- Serve as the primary BI liaison for Finance, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional workgroups with Finance, IT, Clinical, and Operational leaders to promote data literacy and strategic alignment.
- Provide training and support to Finance users on BI tools and self-service reporting.
- Proactively identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve reporting processes.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in BI, analytics, or financial reporting, preferably in healthcare.
- Strong understanding of healthcare financial concepts including budgeting, cost accounting, reimbursement, and service lines.
- Hands-on experience with BI and data engineering tools, particularly Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Experience working with ERP and financial systems such as Oracle, Workday, Lawson, and SAP.
- Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling concepts.
- Basic understanding of data repositories and storage designs, including data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse.

Preferred Experience
- Healthcare system or integrated delivery network IDN experience
- Experience supporting Decision Support, FP&A, Cost Accounting and General Ledger Financial Reporting teams
- Familiarity with EHR financial integrations such as Epic Clarity/Caboodle
- Experience with self-service BI enablement and financial data governance frameworks
- Experience with statistical analysis using Python, R, or other software
- Experience with OTBI, Oracle Analytics Publisher, Financial Reporting Center, FDI, SmartView, and/or CloudMiner is a plus
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance productivity, analysis, or decision-making in daily work
