Based in Palo Alto, California and onsite, the role focuses on building scalable, data driven tools and dashboards that automate design workflows, visualize machine learning experiments, and improve operational efficiency across Tesla's R&D infrastructure. The position blends full stack development, ML tooling, and collaboration with cross functional teams to deploy and maintain internal systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, scale, and maintain user friendly web applications and tools that automate existing design workflows and visualize ML experiments and models
- Integrate multiple data sources and leverage millions of data points to create robust end-to-end learning based systems
- Back end development with Python for training and evaluation code, complemented by front end work in JavaScript
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate software systems into Tesla's ecosystem for seamless deployment
- Build dashboards delivering real-time insights into performance, progress, and key metrics for engineers and leadership
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks related to infrastructure, memory, and runtime efficiency
- Present progress at project milestones to stakeholders and cross functional teams
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Production quality Python coding skills and experience with a major ML framework
- Experience with optimization techniques and time-series forecasting
- Strong knowledge of the React ecosystem, including state management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, MobX), styling (Tailwind CSS, Styled Components, MUI), and testing (Jest, Vitest, Playwright)
- Solid understanding of web development best practices, security principles, design patterns, scalability, and component reuse strategies
- Experience deploying services on Kubernetes or other big data technologies and setting up CI/CD pipelines
- Experience implementing identity management protocols such as OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT, with attention to OWASP Top 10, XSS, and CSRF vulnerabilities

You will build scalable, data driven user interfaces that influence internal designs and operations, contributing to Tesla's mission of sustainable energy.
Expected Compensation
Salary range is USD 124,000 to 210,000 per year, plus cash and stock awards and benefits. The total package may vary based on location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience. Details of participation in benefit plans are provided if an offer is extended.
