Job Description
Solano County DoIT seeks a Senior Information Technology Analyst IV (Cloud Data Engineer) to lead design and maintenance of major data systems onsite in Fairfield, CA, with a salary of USD 62 - 75 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Act as the team lead and project manager for designated major systems.
- Provide advanced technical support to system users.
- Offer strategic direction to software development, network and systems administration, service desk, security, and database teams, as well as consultants, on system design and infrastructure projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Demonstrated advanced expertise in modern data warehousing technologies including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Kimball data modeling, facts and dimensions design, and Medallion Architecture for data engineering.
- Strong ETL development experience with SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and R.
- Significant experience with Power BI, DevOps, Purview, and Dynamics CRM is highly desirable.
- Preferred certifications include Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure AI Associate, Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solution Architect, DAMA CDMP, and Power BI Data Analyst.

The Position
- This is the fourth classification level in the Information Technology Analyst job series.
- Incumbents apply advanced specialized and technical analytical skills and act as team leader/project manager for designated major systems.
- They perform the most difficult duties, including providing advanced technical support to system users.
- They provide lead direction to software development, network/systems administration, service desk, or security and database systems, other Information Technology Analysts, and/or consultants on assigned systems design or infrastructure and maintenance projects.
Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge in modern data warehouse technologies, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Kimball data modeling, facts and dimensions design, and Medallion Architecture.
- Skilled in ETL development using SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficient in SQL, Python, and R.
- Strong experience with Power BI, DevOps, Purview, and Dynamics CRM is highly desirable.
- Preferred certifications include Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure AI Associate, Azure Data Engineer or Azure Solution Architect, DAMA CDMP, and Power BI Data Analyst.
Selection Process
