Job Description

Zane State College, located in Zanesville, Ohio, is seeking an Institutional Research Strategic Data Analyst to translate data into actionable insights that guide planning, operations, and policy. On site, the analyst will collect, analyze, and interpret data to support data-informed decision making, provide technical assistance and programming, and ensure accurate and timely reporting to state and federal agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, report, and present data drawn from a variety of complex internal and external sources to support data-informed decision-making and institutional planning.
  • Use SQL, Power BI/Power Query, InfoMaker, Excel, and related tools to develop, maintain, and update basic queries and reports for recurring internal and external reporting needs.
  • Create statistical analyses, dashboards, and data visualizations to enhance decision making and planning across the college.
  • Assist with the preparation, validation, and reporting of official institutional data to internal and external stakeholders, including required state and federal reporting.
  • Coordinate with offices across the institution to ensure data integrity and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Serve as an institutional data resource for campus initiatives, projects, and committees to support a data-driven approach to planning, evaluation, and decision-making.
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, file locations, query logic and methodology, tools, and issue resolutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
