Job Description

WTW’s Internal Audit function is expanding its data analytics capabilities to better evaluate risk management effectiveness and the design and operation of controls across audits. The Senior Data Analyst, based onsite in Lisbon, Maine, will help plan and execute financial, operational, and technology audits while collaborating with global Internal Audit teams to develop analytics solutions and support ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the global Internal Audit team to define analysis requirements.
  • Develop analytics solutions for assigned audits and projects to ensure evaluation of key business risks and controls.
  • Create ad-hoc analytics, management information, continuous monitoring solutions, and strategic analytics to support Internal Audit initiatives.
  • Develop visualisations to support audit activities and strategic solutions.
  • Offer guidance on analysis approaches and interpretation of deliverables to audit teams.
  • Prepare data analytics working papers to document analyses.
  • Support Internal Audit strategic data analytics activities.

Requirements

  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain analytics concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of analytics experience.
  • Delivery-focused with a structured approach to prioritizing workload in line with targets.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Problem-solving capability to navigate common challenges in developing analytics solutions.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end audit processes, including risk-based practices.
  • Experience developing analytics solutions for audit use cases in financial services, preferably in the insurance sector.
  • Experience using Alteryx Designer to build data analysis workflows.
  • Experience using data visualization software, preferably Microsoft Power BI (Desktop and Cloud Service) to create visuals.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or PySpark in notebooks for data analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud analytics platforms is advantageous but not essential.
  • Comfort using generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Strong Excel skills and solid knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams).
  • Experience preparing clear documentation that explains the developed data analytics solutions.

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferably in a numerate field.
