EpochGeo is hiring a Junior Data Engineer in Reston, VA (onsite) to support an automated analytics effort in the national security space.

Support and maintain data management systems to improve storage efficiency, data access, and data usability across platforms.
Partner with stakeholders to design and implement data architectures aligned to operational needs.
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for reliable, high-performance data processing and access.
Assess and select suitable database and processing technologies, including SQL, NoSQL, and HPC, based on data and query requirements.
Ensure strong data integration across systems to enable analysis and data-driven decision-making.

1+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related role.
Proficiency with Python, SQL, and Apache Airflow (or similar).
Experience designing and implementing data architectures and data management systems.
Familiarity with database technologies including SQL, NoSQL, and HPC, plus experience selecting and configuring them to optimize data systems.
Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data pipeline management.
Track record optimizing data throughput, query performance, and system responsiveness for complex analytics workloads.
Strong problem-solving skills and experience collaborating with data users and other stakeholders.
TS/SCI clearance required and willingness to submit for a CI Poly.
