The Data Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain scalable Kafka driven data platforms in cloud environments, leveraging Kafka Schema Registry and Kafka Security Manager, while guiding peers to deliver reliable data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Kafka clusters in a cloud environment, using Kafka Schema Registry and Kafka Security Manager
- Upgrade and maintain Kafka clusters in Kubernetes on AWS
- Mentor data engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile setting
- Oversee assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms for clients
Requirements
- Experience with Kafka
- Experience creating data partitioning strategies and monitoring topics for performance
- Experience deploying and upgrading Kafka clusters in high availability containerized environments
- Experience utilizing observability platforms such as Elastic or Datadog to configure monitoring for data pipelines to ensure high availability and throughput, low latency, and alerting
- Knowledge of stream processing pipelines and analytics
- Secret clearance

Compensation
Salary: USD 77,600 to 176,000 per year. Compensation is determined by location, education, knowledge, skills, experience, and organizational requirements. The posted range reflects typical compensation for this role and is one component of the overall package.
Work model
Onsite work is primary for this role, with collaboration at Booz Allen or customer facilities. There may be occasions to work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement depending on leadership needs and project requirements.
Clearance
Secret clearance is required. Applicants will undergo a security investigation to determine eligibility for access to classified information.
Identity verification
