Lead Data Engineer

OPERS in downtown Columbus, OH, offers a hybrid work arrangement and is seeking a lead data engineer to design and implement data pipelines to the data warehouse, clean and optimize data for analytics, and collaborate with cross functional teams to address business problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement pathways to move raw data into the data warehouse.
• Clean, structure, and optimize data for faster access and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, applying technical expertise and analytical insight to solve complex business challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 6 years of hands-on engineering experience; or a total of 10 years of direct, relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience planning, leading, and managing initiatives.
• Experience with MS SQL Business Intelligence platforms such as SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSRS.
• Proficiency in integrating and pulling data via APIs.
• Previous experience with ETL and scheduling tools.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Must be willing and able to abide by the OPERS Personal Trading Policy.
