Live Sports Data Analyst

Join Apex Logic to support reliable, real-time sports data that helps turn live event information into clearer, more actionable views of games. This is a contract, on-site role based in the Alabama area, focused on capturing data at Alabama College Football games and helping improve how it is collected and validated.

What you’ll do

• Attend live sporting events or designated venues to capture real-time game data, including plays, statistics, and contextual details, using company tools and applications.
• Monitor game flow throughout the event.
• Enter data with accuracy and speed, following strict quality and timing protocols.
• Verify entries against established standards to ensure data quality.
• Report anomalies and technical issues to the operations team.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to improve data collection processes over time.
• Participate in training sessions to refine methods and stay current on tools.
• Work evenings and weekends aligned with live sports schedules.

• Analytical skills to interpret game situations, validate data, and identify patterns or inconsistencies.
• Clear communication to coordinate with team members, report issues, and follow operational guidelines.
• Experience with training and research to learn new tools quickly, apply standardized methods, and contribute to process improvements.
• Knowledge of major sports including rules, terminology, and game flow, plus enthusiasm for live sporting events.
• Comfort with technology, including mobile apps, data entry interfaces, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work on-site at Alabama CFB games, including evenings and weekends as available.
• Previous experience in sports statistics, live event operations, or a related data-focused field is beneficial; relevant education in sports management, statistics, or computer science is a plus.

Compensation and work setup

• Contract role
• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL (on-site)
• Pay: $75.00 to $150.00 per hour
• Base + bonus: $200 base plus up to a $200 bonus for College Football games
• Work location: In person
