Live Sports Data Analyst

The Live Sports Data Analyst role at Apex Logic is a contract, on-site position in Oxford, MS focused on capturing real-time Ole Miss College Football game data and entering and reporting it using company tools.

Role Overview

This in-person role requires attending live sporting events or designated venues, with a specific assignment to Ole Miss College Football games. The position centers on monitoring game flow, collecting game plays and statistics with strong attention to detail, and ensuring entries meet established quality and timing protocols. Evening and weekend work may be required based on the sports schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend live sporting events or designated venues to capture real-time game data, including plays, statistics, and contextual information, using company tools and applications.
• Attend Ole Miss College Football games.
• Monitor game flow throughout live events.
• Enter data with high accuracy and speed.
• Verify entries against established standards.
• Report any anomalies or technical issues to the operations team.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to improve data collection processes.
• Participate in training sessions to refine data collection methods.
• Follow strict quality and timing protocols.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong data collection skills with attention to detail and accuracy in fast-paced, real-time environments.
• Analytical skills to interpret game situations, validate data, and recognize patterns or inconsistencies.
• Clear communication skills to coordinate with team members, report issues, and follow operational guidelines.
• Experience with training and research to learn new tools quickly, apply standardized methods, and contribute to process improvements.
• Knowledge of major sports, including rules, terminology, and game flow, along with enthusiasm for live sporting events.

• Ability to work on-site at Ole Miss football games, including evenings and weekends as available.
• Previous experience in sports statistics, live event operations, or a related data-focused field is beneficial; relevant education in sports management, statistics, or computer science is a plus.

Compensation and Work Details

• Job type: Contract
• Location: Oxford, MS (on-site)
• Base pay and bonus: $200 base, plus up to $200 bonus for each College Football game
• Hourly pay: $75.00 to $150.00 per hour
• Work location: In person
